Abbott Middle Schoolers Compete Against Hillsdale Veterans

For their Senior Capstone Project, Hillsdale mock trialers, Megan Evans, Ryan Scibetta, and Manuel Bernal wrote an original mock trial case, People v. Freeman (the case we will use for our first annual Hillsdale Stopwatch Invitational, coming June 8-16).

As part of the project, Manuel Bernal also piloted a mock trial program at Abbott Middle School.  Eleven Abbott 8th-graders, using People v. Freeman, practiced since January to put on a trial against Hillsdale veterans.  If their performance was any indicator, the future of local mock trial looks bright.
